QC 101 Reflection Questions

Motivation

  • Consider

    • Have you worked for/with someone that you perceived was primarily led by each of the motivating factors discussed? What were these experiences like for you?

    • Can you identify situations in which you were/are motivated by Prestige, Power, People, and/or Purpose? What were/are the behaviors and outcomes associated with these motivating factors?

    • What other motivating factors influence your desire to lead (e.g. financial stability, parental expectations, revenge), and how could they be reflected in your behavior?

    • Have you surrendered your plans to God’s purpose for your life? If so, how? If not, how come?

    • Are there any behaviors that need to be modified or changed to better align with God’s will rather than yours? If yes, what are they?

  • -ATIONS

    • Identify ways you can align your motivations more closely with a purpose-driven approach.

    • Identify steps you can take to ensure your leadership benefits those you serve.

    • Identify when you plan to take the first step.

Pre-Preparation

  • Consider

    • Are there any labels from your past skewing your self-concept? How is this manifesting in your behaviors? 

  • -ATIONS

    • If applicable, identify the steps you need to take to begin creating a more accurate self-story and the date that you plan to take the first step.

Preparation

  • Consider

    • What do you need to learn and/or experience to be a more effective leader?

    • What sacrifice(s) will you need to make to grow in this/these area(s)?

    • Are there any people in your life who can aid in your development in this/these area(s)?

  • -ATIONS

    • Identify steps you need to take to begin the preparation period.

    • Identify the anticipated timeline of your initial preparation.

    • Identify when you plan to take the first step.

Reputation

  • Consider

    • How do you want to be described as a leader?

    • What behaviors do you exhibit that support these descriptions?

    • Do you exhibit any behaviors that would negate these descriptions? If so, what are they

  • -ATIONS

    • Identify behaviors that you need to incorporate to better align with your desired reputation.

    • Identify upcoming opportunities for you to engage in these behaviors.

    • Identify anticipated obstacles or hindrances to engaging in these behaviors.

Interrelation

  • Consider

    • Which category(ies) of relationships are the strongest for you?

    • Which category(ies) of relationships require more cultivation from you?

    • How is your relationship with God?

  • -ATIONS

    • Identify how you will cultivate necessary relationships.

    • Identify how you will discern who you should cultivate relationships with.

    • Identify what you can do to strengthen your relationship with God.
